   Something else to add to what you have stated – the Diatonic Harmonies “rule” tells us generally what chords lead to others.

   1 Chord – Goes to Any Chord
   2 Chord – Generally goes to 5 Chord
   3 Chord – Generally goes to 6 Chord
   4 Chord – Generally goes to 1 Chord or 5 Chord
   5 Chord – Generally goes to 1 Chord (which you mentioned as resolving back to “home base”)
   6 Chord – Generally goes to 2 Chord.
